    The Pine Bluffs Lions Club annual Ride for Sight was held on June 4th. In the past it has been held on the Memorial Day Weekend. The reason for the change was to increase bicycle riders coming to the event. Memorial Day being the first real holiday for getting out to go fishing or camping or perhaps just getting away from the daily grind. Ride for Sight is a fundraiser to raise money for people that need help with their sight. The Pine Bluffs Lions Club is willing to help with any person of any age that has sight issues.     Elaine Jessop, 85, died Saturday June 3rd, 2023 after a short battle of lung cancer with metastasis to the brain. Elaine was born April 17th, 1938 in a dugout house in Callaway, NE to Theodore and Marie Eggleston. She was the 3rd oldest of 5 children. She married Howard Jessop in September of 1960.     Four students of Burns Elementary competed in a poster contest. The Smokey Bear and Woodsy Owl is a national contest. The contest was for students in the first grade through fifth grade. For this award the winners are not voted on but the top two finishers in each event are selected as the recipients.     Three of the Pine Bluffs Lady Hornets track and field team has made All-State honors. Emily Haas, Jessica Hoffman and Alyssa Slade are All-State Award recipients.
