    On 12 Dec the Burns Broncs boy's varsity basketball team took on the New Castle Dogies in a tournament game. The Broncs proved to be too much for the Dogies to handle as they walked away with a 66 to 31 victory. Leading the way for the Broncs was Tate Bishop with 22 points.     The Burns girls varsity basketball team played the New Castle Dogies on 12 Dec. The Lady Broncs won the contest with a 39 to 43 victory. The Lady Broncs went on a 13 to 0 run in the second quarter and fended off the Dogies second half run of 25 to 21 to seal the win.     The Pine Bluffs Hornets varsity basketball team is off to a good start this year. With a 2 and 1 record there are sound signs for a great season but still there is room for improvement.     The Burns/Pine Bluffs varsity wrestling team competed in the Charlie Lake invite wrestling tournament. Twenty five teams from Wyoming, Colorado and Nebraska competed in the event. The team from East (Cheyenne) took top honors with a total of 188 points. Thompson Valley from Loveland, Co took second place honors with 165 points. Sadly the turnout was not what it usually is but that was expected with this year's current events.     Pine Bluffs recreation recently did the judging for their 15th annual Christmas light decoration contest. Judging happened on December 14th between 5:00 and 8:00 p.m.. Rules for the contest were residents must live in the city limits, and homes can only win every other year. Businesses were excluded from judging.All the winners can pick up their $20 gift card to the Texas Trail Market from the Pine Bluffs Town Hall.
