  • Getting papers to customers brings satisfaction

    Zachary Laux|Dec 26, 2013

I get a lot of satisfaction out of writing. I like gathering information and flowing it into what will hopefully become a nice narrative, news story or whatever I am writing. But the most satisfaction I get out of writing is watching a project all come together. The first newspaper job I had was at a small daily in Rawlins. My beat was the Rawlins area and the Rawlins Town Council. All I was ever required to do was write stories daily and hand them to my editor. After that stage, I left for the...

    Charlene Smith|Dec 26, 2013

    Staff report|Dec 26, 2013

Pawnee lost by two points Dec. 17 against Union Colony. The small margin showed great improvement in the team, said Coach Tim Brunelle. "I thought we showed tremendous improvement in this game compared to the previous games," he said. "We are starting to move the ball around better and are more decisive offensively." Brunelle said the improvement was due to better defense. "Our defense kept us in the game during the rough spots where we had trouble scoring,". I am happy with our improvement so...

  • Comfort food to serve prodigal family

    Charlene Smith|Dec 26, 2013

Although family members living at home won’t put it at the top of their list, those familiar faces that you only get to see during the holidays usually miss terribly their favorite foods prepared by family hands. Even college students and young adults out on their own come home not only to see family but to taste the distinct flavor of home. They might get pancakes in the hash line or at the corner cafe, but not with a dash of vanilla, buttermilk and cinnamon. And those souls connected to us by... Full story

  • Looking Back
