Eileen Marie (Philp) Rice, 59, of Highlands Ranch, Colo. died Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010 at Cherrelyn Healthcare Center in Littleton, Colo.
Eileen was born Jan. 10, 1951 in Greeley, Colo. to Thomas Harold and Regina Marie (Bockbrader) Philp
She and Philip D. Coons were a loving and devoted couple for 20 years and he survives.
Eileen graduated Grover High School in 1969. She graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a BA in French and in dance in 1976 and a Masters in Library Science degree from Emporia State University in 1995. Eileen was a foreign language teacher and teacher/librarian in the Denver area. Her hobbies included quilting and gardening.
In addition to Mr. Coons, she is survived by a brother, James Dale Philp and his wife, Mary Beth of Big Sandy, Texas; sisters, Susan Carol Philp of Kingston, Mass. and Anita Jeanne Hartinger of Fort Collins; three nieces, Amanda Philp and husband, Bret Poulson, Gina Jones and husband, Kirby and their two children Oliver William and Dashel Edward, and Emily Hartinger.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010, at the Grover Cemetery. Lunch will follow at the Hereford Community Church.
Donations in Eileen’s name may be made to Grover Fire Department.
