Rev. F.J. Swanson will hold his regular services in the First Methodist Church Sunday, February 27. English services at 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. Swedish service at 2:30 p.m. All are welcome.
Mrs. Louise Reed is in from her homestead on the North Divide today making arrangements with a steam plow outfit to have considerable sod broken this spring.
Andy Malm sold five hundred bushels of oats to the Pine Bluffs Elevator Company Tuesday.
Born — to Mr. and Mrs. Ed Shindler on January 25, a ten pound boy.
Born — to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Overton of Bushnell, a nine pound girl.
Pine Bluffs is to have a 16-piece band in the near future, this number of persons having signed up to take a course of forty-eight lessons in instrumental music. If you hear unearthly sounds on the night breezes this summer put it down that the boys are practicing up for the Harvest Festival.

Fred Frahm, 46, of Sidney, sentenced last December to 10 years in the penitentiary after being convicted of manslaughter in connection with the disappearance of his brother, John, is to be brought back to Oshkosh at once to await trial for jail breaking.
Funeral services were held for Columbus Mabbitt.
Grover high school boys’ basketball quintet will meet the Pine Bluffs boys this (Thursday) evening on the home floor in a return game, our boys having payed (sic.) at Grover earlier in the season. The Colorado boys won in the first engagement, but our boys will attempt to reverse the score tonight.
Dan Donough, well known rancher of the Horse Creek district, and well known in Pine Bluffs is in the Memorial hospital in Cheyenne with injuries he suffered when his car plunged off a bridge near his ranch a few days ago. He suffered several fractured ribs and painful injuries.
The Torrington Telegram, weekly newspaper, was sold last week L. P. Loomis, president of the Wyoming Press Association, to Clarence R. Stumff and Hollis Johnson, both of Lincoln, Nebr.
Trenton, N. J. February 19 — Bruno Richard Hauptman today won the right to appeal his conviction for murder of the Lindbergh baby and was granted a stay of execution originally set for the week of March 18.

New arrivals — Mr. and Mrs. Ray Soto of Kimball are parents of a 6-lb., 12-oz. Son, David Owen. Mr. Mrs. Jack Waegener of Cheyenne are parents of a daughter, Kathryn Marie.
Pvt. Lloyd R. Kinnison Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Kinnison Sr., is home on 30-day leave. He has been stationed with the army at Gaithersburg, Md., and is to go overseas after his leave.
Funeral services were held for Mrs. William Ray and Marshall White.
Pine Bluffs high school took an early lead and then rolled to a 62 to 42 Texas Trail conference basketball victory over Huntley Saturday night at Huntley.
A well-balanced offense paved the way for Hawk Springs to edge Hillsdale 58-50 at Hawk Springs Saturday night in a non-conference high school game.
A well-balanced scoring attack paved the way for Pine Bluffs to trim Lingle 64-44 here Friday night in a Texas Trail Conference high school basketball game.
Mr. and Mrs. F. L. (Roy) DuVall celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.

New arrivals — Kent and Debbie Burt are the proud parents of a son, Kevin William. Arland and Vanessa Timm are proud to announce the birth of their son, Jacob Ryan. Born to Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Pearson, Jr., Phoenix, a girl, Amy Nicole. Dan and Pam Kirkbride are parents of a baby girl, Abby Lynn.
This past week the Burns FHA Chapter celebrated National FHA- HERO Week. The theme this year was "Future Homemakers of America: 40 years of Real Learning." The Burns chapter put up posters Monday, February 11, and wore a satin emblem which had "I Love FHA" on it.
The Pine Bluffs Winter Color Guard will open its season of competition in Aurora, Colo., Saturday, February 23. This seasons guard is made up of students from the 6th through the 9th grades, and has an average age of only 13.
February 5, the junior high girls hosted the Briggsdale Rams. The final score was 16-24.
Besides registering another conference win in their 44-36 victory over the Pine Bluffs Hornets, the Burns Broncs gained an added mental bonus by doing it without one of their big guns.
Pine Bluffs’ 8th grade boys won the championship game in the Lion’s Club Tournament here last weekend. It was a roller coaster win over Guernsey, who suffered their first defeat of the season.

New arrivals — Pat and Pam Gross of Pine Bluffs are pleased to announce the birth of their son, Clayton Patrick.
On Monday, February 14, the Crow Valley Falcons hosted Campion at Briggsdale. The Falcons did not shoot the ball very well, hitting only 22% from the floor. This resulted in the 61-74 defeat of the home team in its second non-league game.
The Albin Lady Wildcats won their only contest this last week against Burns 63-52 while Burns fell again the next night to Pine Bluffs 55-44. Pine Bluffs dropped a game to Southeast 54-40 on Friday night.
On Saturday night, the game between the rival Lady Broncs and Lady Hornets began fairly even. Burns held a 15-11 advantage after one period, but a decisive second quarter would leave no doubt at the half that the Pine Bluffs ladies had come to play.
Members recognized at the Pine Bluffs Boy Scout Troop 109 Blue & Gold Banquet held Friday evening were, Marc Hall, Chance Madsen, Wylie Brooks, Travis Werner, Tigers Brandon Hileman, Nolan Jeffres and William Romig.
