The Burns Lady Broncs head into the post-season with a win and a loss on their record. On Friday, the Lady Broncs hosted the Lady Wolves of Moorcroft and proved inhospitable in logging a 50-38 win. Traveling I-80 on Saturday, the Lady Broncs entered the Hornets Nest and came away with a stinging 39-52 defeat.

Though coming away with a win on Friday, coach Barry Ward said his squad "did not execute very well and gave up way to many easy baskets."

Three players hit double digits Friday night. Michelle Bastian found the net for 16 points. She also led in steals with six and rebounds with 8. Putting up 12 points was Jordan Hirsig. Following her was Alex Ward with 11.

Hirsig was the only Burns player to hit double digits in the match-up with Pine Bluffs, hitting five field goals for 10 points.

"Pine just played better than we did," coach Ward said. "Again we did not execute very well."

In addition to being the points leader, Hirsig also led in rebounds (7) and steals (5).

Post season play begins this weekend with a possible repeat schedule from the past weekend’s action. Burns takes the court Thursday at 10:30 a.m. and will play Wright. Pine Bluffs is scheduled to play Tongue River at 9 a.m. Thursday. Should both Burns and Pine Bluffs win their slot on the bracket they would face each other on Friday at 4 p.m. All games will take place in Douglas.

"Everyone starts 0-0 and what you have done up to this point doesn’t matter," coach Ward said concerning the post-season.

"There is as much parity in the 2A East Regional as there has ever been, Ward said but noted, "Big Horn and Tongue River have to be the favorites though."
