The Burns Lady Broncs opened their court to South and Pine Bluffs and sent the visitors home with wins. South defeated Burns 54-44. Pine Bluffs prevailed 63-45. The weekend resulted in a 3-12 season record for the Lady Broncs.

In Fridays game versus the South Lady Bisons, Lady Bronc Mckayla Ward earned a double-double, putting 12 points on the board while grabbing 10 boards.

“We had chances to have won the game but gave up too many easy baskets in the fourth quarter,” coach Barry Ward said.

While Mckayla logged her double-double, Mckenzie was the games high scorer with 13 points. Bailey Ward also scored in the double digits with 10 points in the game.

On Saturday, Burns put the welcome mat out for their inter-district rival Pine Bluffs Lady Hornets.

“We gave up too many offensive rebounds and easy baskets,” Coach Ward said. “Pine is a great team and shot free throws very well.”

Mckenzie Ward repeated as high scorer with 10 points.

The contest with Pine Bluffs was the Tough Enough to Wear Pink event.

“It was a lot of fun,” Coach Ward said. “A big thank you goes out to all that participated and made it a huge success.”

Up next for the Lady Broncs are two more home games. Lingle-Ft. Laramie will arrive Friday and Lusk will play Saturday.
