Here where but a few years ago the dismal wail of the hungry coyote broke the solitude of the plains and the jack rabbit played unmolested is today the abode of a happy and prosperous people; on the 4th day of July 1776 when Liberty bell gave the signal to a waiting people that a new nation had been born, Wyoming was unknown to civilized man; but now on July 5th thousands of patriotic, enthusiastic people will congregate in Pine Bluffs to commemorate the 139th birthday of this great new nation.
