Small game hunting opportunities continue

At this time of the year, most of the big game hunting seasons have ended, but small game hunting, including cottontail rabbits, continues. The hunting season for cottontails opened Sept. 1 and closes March 1.

“Hunting cottontail rabbits can be a great way to introduce young people to hunting, and with the abundance of cottontail rabbits observed in many areas of Wyoming during the fall of 2015, hunting opportunities should be plentiful,” said Bud Stewart, Information and Education Specialist in the Sheridan region.
