Summer doesn’t go by any calendar. And that is perhaps why it is such an exciting season. One day we wake up to winter weather warnings, and then it seems the very next day the wind turns warm and the sunshine lays freckles on our ground and skin. Summer is here.

Another year has passed on the calendar for many of us, myself included. Sharing a birthday with me this week is Cordell Willert on June 4, who will also begin celebrating an anniversary after his nuptials June 10.
