Community Calendar

 


Items for possible inclusion in the weekly community calendar should be typewritten or legibly printed. All submissions should include the name and daytime telephone number of the person submitting the information in case questions arise.

Items which may be included in the calendar are church events, club meetings, and school events.

If your club will not be meeting or has a change, please contact us so we can update the calendar with the correct information as soon as possible.

Items should be received on Monday at 5 p.m., one week prior to the date they will appear in the calendar.

They may be faxed to 307-245-3325, e-mailed to pinebluffseditor@rtconnect.net, mailed to Pine Bluffs Post, P.O. Box 68, Pine Bluffs, WY 82082, or dropped off at the Post’s office located at 201 E. 2nd St.

Every Weekday Morning

Every morning from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. you can get together with your friends for coffee and conversation at the Pine Bluffs Senior Center.

Mondays

Adult Coloring at the Pine Bluffs Senior Center. Coloring pages, cards, gel pens, and colored pencils provided.

Every Tuesday

Every Tuesday at 1 p.m. Bingo is held at the Pine Bluffs Senior Center.

Every Wednesday

Pick up pickleball will be held Wednesdays at the Community Center from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Pickleball is a game played indoors on a small court with a paddle and whiffle ball. Free of charge, everyone is welcome.

Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday

Senior Shape Up at the Pine Bluffs Fitness Center from 8:15 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. This is a free exercise program designed to promote flexibility, muscle strength, coordination and general overall fitness.

Thursdays

The Pine Bluffs Senior Center will start Nintendo Wii Bowling Leagues starting February 11! These are 17-week leagues: Jan-April; May-Aug; Sept-Dec.

Times are 9-11 a.m. Please come in before the February 11 to create your Wii profile.

Join us every Thursday for an interactive storytime session designed for preschool children and their caregivers to practice new skills incorporating books, songs, rhymes, movement, and more!

Friday Movies at the Library

1:30-3:30 p.m.

Come to the library on Friday afternoons this school year to watch a variety of family-friendly films. Each week we’ll show a different movie. Bring your favorite snack to enjoy. (Children & Families; Pine Bluffs Branch Library).

July 7

Siren Testing

The Cheyenne/Laramie County Emergency Management Agency will be testing the Outdoor Warning Siren system promptly at 12 p.m. on Friday, July 7 for all sirens within Laramie County.

The warning system will sound a steady signal for a period of one to three minutes.

Dinner and a Movie: Founder

Tuesday, July 11

7:00 – 9:00 p.m.

This movie tells the true story of Ray Kroc, a salesman from Illinois who meets Mac and Dick McDonald, brothers who run a burger operation in 1950s Southern California. Ray is impressed by the brothers’ speedy system of making food and sees franchise potential. He maneuvers himself into a position to take the company from the brothers and creates a billion-dollar empire. Rated PG-13. (Adults; Pine Bluffs Branch Library)

July 12

Brown Bag Book Club: The Book Scavenger

Wednesday, July 12

12:00 – 1:00 p.m.

Just after 12-year-old Emily and her family move to San Francisco, she teams up with her new friend James to follow clues in an odd book they find, hoping to figure out its secrets before the men who attacked Emily’s hero, publisher Garrison Griswold, solve the mystery first.

Join in with your friends as you read this mystery and see if you can solve it before the book ends. Please bring a sack lunch meet us at the park at the Texas Trail Museum. Lemonade, water, and cookies will be provided. Pick up a copy of the book when you sign up at the Pine Bluffs Branch Library. (Grades 5-8; Park at Texas Trail Museum)

Technology Night

Take full advantage of the Laramie County Library System’s online services. We‘ll explain how to access, review and download eBooks and eMagazines to your device. Never have an overdue fine again! Bring your Android or iOS gadget (power cord, too) and let us help you set it up. (All Ages; Burns Branch Library)

Dinner and a Book Club

Join us for a relaxed, social evening as we discuss a popular book! Stop in the Burns Branch anytime to pick up your copy of the book, then bring a dish to add to our potluck dinner. (Adults; Burns Branch Library)

You Can Build a Better World: Party People Magic Show

Wednesday, July 19

3:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Join magicians Mr. E and Kyle Groves as they show kids how you can Build a Better World through impossible magic, off-the-wall comedy, music, and lots of audience participation! This family-friendly show is sure to be a blast! (Children & Families; Pine Bluffs Branch Library)

All Class Reunion
