'Spring Pops' in Burns

Luke Lerwick performs on the drums at the Burns Junior-Senior High School "Spring Pops" concert Monday night. Four ensembles played at Monday night's event - the Burns Junior High School band and choir and the Burns High School band and choir. "Spring Pops" reflected the concert's theme of pop songs, something BJHS music instructor Anne Schatz said was the result of students wanting to perform popular music. The concert included contemporary hits such as Ke$ha's "Die Young" along with classics like The Beatles' "Yesterday." Students in the high school band performed songs from the "Star Wars" soundtrack among other tunes.
