'Not for a private club'

Town of Pine Bluffs department heads will revisit assessing fees at the public swimming pool following passionate pleas from concerned citizens at a regularly scheduled town council meeting Monday night.

The council voted last month to assess $1 fees for youth and seniors and a $2 fee for adults.

Speaking at Monday's meeting, two residents compared charging to use the pool would essentially turn it into a private pool and deprive the town's youth of a vital summer activity.

"The pool is the only source of enjoyment for kids in the community," Ron Ladd, a former town council member said....
