Kids love puddles. The magnet between them and water is only enhanced with a little dirt. So it was surprising when the youngest Smith was happy to see the big perennial puddle at the end of 5th Avenue smooth and dry. Once upon a time there was a tree. He grew tall and strong in the dry, high and often frozen ground of southeast Wyoming. A feat in itself. The tree shaded a little house and watch a couple of generations of children grow and play beneath him. He swayed when the Wyoming winds blew.
