    We hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and didn’t overindulge themselves this year. The Christmas season is upon us once again. I don’t know about all of you, but I feel this year went by way too fast! We have some exciting events coming in December for the Burns community and we will try to keep everyone up to date with all that is happening.     Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at the Burns Branch Library! In 1620, a group of pilgrims sailed from Europe to the United States, on a ship called the Mayflower. The pilgrims settled in Plymouth, Massachusetts. It was winter when the pilgrims first arrived and nearly half of them died that first year. Two Wampanoag Indians names Squanto and Samoset helped the pilgrims by teaching them how to farm the land and build their homes. That next fall, the pilgrims had food to eat and homes to live in.
