Since I was unable to attend the village meeting last week, here’s a quick summary I got from board chairman Tim Nolting. He said the meeting was short and they only covered a few items of business. The board accepted a bid on the metal roofing material that was removed from the shop building when the hail damage was repaired. They voted to file their periodic road maintenance report. Rick reported that they are still having electrical problems with one of the water pumps. The village also d...

For the special this week at the Hereford Community Church Shirley Hall played “God of Grace” on the piano. Birthday folks this week include: Travis Cochran, Nathan Rogers, Reta Pahl, Camy Anderson, Larry Malm, Toria McGowan, Owen Gifford, Nathaniel McGowan, Corwin Bunny-Moore, Marie Parker, Louise Person, and Ronald Kennedy. These meetings bring in speakers from around the region, country, and world to talk about the latest updates and trends in no-till crop production. These meetings are an incredible place to network with other no-till producers. You will also gain a larger perspective on the p...

  • Do you want joy, or just happiness?

Cynthia Shroyer, Pine Bluffs Post staff|Jan 24, 2013

Dontcha hate it when you read something that is supposed to be positive, but turns out to be negative because the writer didn’t get all the facts, or misses the point because he would rather look at the topic from a skewed point of view? Such was the case when I read a magazine article on joy as part of my homework for Contemporary Health. The author is a “Hahvahrd” psychologist so I suppose I should have waded in with my waders on. Another clue that I wouldn’t agree with the guy was that while...
