Sharon Stacy or Janet from the Burns Library|Jan 31, 2013

Can you believe February is already here? I was going to say I’m ready for spring but I think we have had spring weather all winter. Does that mean we will have winter in the spring? Maybe we will just skip winter this year, but we need some moisture! A wet rainy spring could be nice. Burns Branch Library is hosting Cupcakes and Canvas on Saturday, Feb. 2, at 10 a.m. Families and children will create a mural and we’ll hang it on the library wall. You’ll also have fun decorating a cupcake or two! The library partners with the ALEX program so on...

A bit of sad news for the bunny watchers in town. The lone black bunny met his demise last weekend. He turned up at the Smith house for lunch Saturday, and the Smith labs thought he’d be better as a dish than a guest. Whether he froze to death or was scared to it by those big labs, our little black bunny is gone. Maybe this spring we might see a random black bunny in the litters of the others. Some of our streets in town received a facelift, or more like a gravel plant. It is nice to have a b...

We also had a smigin’ of rain one day, and reminded me that it still can happen, here in terribly dry Banner County! Last Sunday the Banner County Volunteer Fire men hosted a soup lunch and silent auction for T...

For the special this week at the Hereford Community Church Steve Hauer sang “What Sin?” The sermon title was “Peace and Joy.” There are many scriptures that talk about peace and joy. Jesus is the Lord of peace. When you are in His will and obey His word you can have His personal peace in your life. The joy that comes from knowing Jesus will help you through the hard times.
