  • Crevice Gardens - a little piece of of mountainside in your yard

Mike Heath Laramie County Master Gardners|Feb 14, 2019

Crevice gardens are a relatively new concept brought to us by the avid rock gardeners from the Czech Republic. The Czechs have been acclaimed as some of the most passionate and enthusiastic rock gardeners in the world. They've taken an age-old garden concept and literally turned it up on edge. The old tried and true concept of rock-gardening uses flat stones (such as flagstone) and "stair-steps" them up a hillside or slope to create planting areas that pretty much look like stairs with plants....

Valentine's Day and veterans have long been a "hand in hand" type of holiday. For many veterans and their loved ones this special day dedicated to celebrating love for those they hold dear to their hearts has been one of separation is the veteran is deployed, at war, or in the hospital from injuries or illness from serving. • Nail Biter!

    Feb 14, 2019

The only score that matters in a basketball competition are the numbers on the board at the end of the game. If the Pine Bluffs Hornets didn't know that already, they certainly learned it Saturday afternoon. In a nail-biter of a matchup between Glenrock and Pine Bluffs, the Hornets needed every minute of play to secure a win at home. And they did just that. The Hornets spent much of the game trailing Glenrock with their deficit growing to 10 points with 40 seconds left in the second half at 29-1...

  • Lady Hornets thrash Glenrock

    Feb 14, 2019

If Kammie Ragsdale set out to sing a swan song in her final basketball campaign as a Lady Hornet, she's doing a fine job of it. The senior, who earlier in the week signed to play for Casper College, put up 20 points in the Lady Hornets' win over Glenrock. To be fair, Saturday's contest could be better described as as a blowout as the Lady Hornets defeated the Herders 53-6. The Hornets were tenacious on the defensive side of the ball that they allowed no more than 2 points in each of the first...

    Feb 14, 2019

Although fatalities were down last year due to drivers being more cautious, more work is needed. Statistics from the Wyoming Department of Transportation’s Highway Safety program indicated Wyoming had 108 fatalities in 2018, which was one of the lowest in six years. However, since the beginning of the year, there have been 16 fatalities, which is a relatively high number that month. “Over time the public has done an incredible job helping us reduce fatalities and ensure they stay safe when driving on Wyoming’s roads,” WYDOT Director Bill Pa...
