    (Torrington, WY, February 17, 2020)...Eastern Wyoming College hosted the Wyoming Academic Challenge on February 15, 2020. Six Wyoming high schools sent eleven teams to compete. The two to four-member teams participated in four rigorous rounds of competition. Questions ranged from current events, and mathematics to literature.     Tuesday’s meeting of the Pine Bluffs town council opened with a motion to accept a feasibility study for a possible assisted living facility. Resolution 2020-05 was motioned and unanimously passed to apply for a community grant to request funds to conduct the study that would determine if Pine Bluffs would be able to sustain their own assisted living facility.     Though there may be no such thing as a free lunch businesses and individuals in our area want to make sure that none of our kids go without. Through many donations the annual Shop With a Hero was able to give each participating child $150.00 to buy gifts with.     Norma Jean Sandberg Deselms, 90, of the Golden Prairie Community (North of Burns, Wyoming) died February 14, 2020 at the Davis Hospice Center. She was the oldest child born to Earnest and Eunice Sandberg on April 10, 1929 in Kimball, Nebraska. Norma attended 1st through 12th grade in Burns graduating in 1947.     The Pine Bluffs Hornets are riding high after winning their last three games. Tuesday, February 11, saw a win against Kimball with a final score of 85/48. The Hornets then faced the Southeast (Yoder) Cyclones and came away win 77/50 win, and finally the Hornets managed to stomp the Glenrock Herders on Saturday with a 85/21 win.
