    The Pine Bluffs Hornets and Lady Hornets may have wrapped up their regular season play, but there will still be basketball played on their home court. And it will be played on donkeys. On Tuesday next week, residents will have the chance to see local firefighters, High West Energy employees and Pine Bluffs High School students play basketball on donkeys.     Students from Pine Bluffs earned second place at the Eastern Wyoming College Wyoming Academic Challenge tournament held over the weekend. The team consisting of Greg Fornstrom, Reagan Pachel, Joey Romans and Diana Sanchez earned the honors. Pine Bluffs also took home first place honors in the small schools division.     Melvin Eugene Waterman, 73, passed away peacefully at home on Feb 14th with his loving wife, Karen, by his side. Mel was born December 24, 1945 to Clemens and Olive Waterman of Stronghurst, IL as the ninth of their ten children. He proudly served his country, overseas, in the Vietnam War as part of the Navy before he settled down in Iowa, where he met Karen McDowall.     A 3-0 2A regional tournament performance gave the Pine Bluffs boys a top seed at the 2019 Wyoming State Basketball Tournament. The Hornets defeated Moorcroft, Big Horn and Wright to win the eastern Wyoming Region. In the tournament opener, Pine Bluffs quickly ran away form Moorcroft to win the first game 70-26 last Thursday.     The Pine Bluffs Lady Hornets punched a ticket to the state championship basketball tournament set to begin this weekend. They did so after a 2-1 run at the regional tournament held last weekend.
