Duane Lee Yeik, 63, of Pine Bluffs died March 6, 2013, at his home. Lee (as he was known by his friends) was born on Feb 18, 1950, in Laramie, the son of Calvin D. and Lois Ann (Clary) Yeik. Duane was raised on his parents’ farm at Hawk Springs. Following his graduation from Torrington High School in 1968, he joined the U.S. Navy. Melvin “Andy” Anderson, 87, of Springdale, AR passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2013 in Springdale, AR. Andy was born on Aug. 11, 1925, in Pine Bluffs, a son of Reuben V. and Ruth L. Anderson. When you first meet Scout Pachel, the first adjective that comes to mind is quiet. But the streaks of passion you see light up her eyes is due to school and family. Once again, neighbors, we find ourselves getting a little cardiovascular workout by shoveling and sweeping snow off our walks. The snow was very pretty, students wished it had hit on Thursday or Monday, and I personally would have liked to have the foot of snow that was predicted, but everyone still enjoyed a quiet storm.
