  • Legislature Fails to Protect Election Integrity

    Mike Heath|Mar 24, 2022

The 2022 legislative session started out boring and promised to continue that way to the end. As expected in a budget session most bills not budget related either weren’t introduced or they failed without fanfare. There were a few, though, that I thought had a good chance this year that died. Some failed to pass and some weren’t brought forward by either Speaker of the House Barlow or Senate President Dockstader. After the special session last fall I didn’t expect the legislature to show any courage to protect Wyoming citizens from overb...

    Mar 24, 2022

Cheyenne, WY – At the beginning of this lawsuit, I explained that as a member of the executive branch, it is my job to administer the laws as written by the Wyoming Legislature. When there is a disagreement about the meaning of a particular statutory provision, the appropriate place to seek clarification is with the judicial branch. I am grateful that is what occurred in this case. My office and I will review today’s decision with our legal counsel to determine how best to proceed in light of the ruling.
