During the regular town meeting on April 6, Nancy Sundin introduced an idea to the council. She explained the south side of the Day Care building has been growing a lot of weeds. Her idea is to pull the weeds and add a garden. Sundin said she has noticed a lot of spring weeds growing on the side of the day care. The Lady Hornets' performance in the Brayden Invitational track and field meet Saturday was a pleasant surprise for Coach Dustin Lee after the team placed fourth overall out of 19 teams. "That's the highest ranking that any of my teams have gotten at that meet in the past six years at least," Lee said. The Burns Broncs track and field team performed well overall Saturday, tying for third place in the Bayard Invitational. "It was a great day," said Coach Cole Manlove, impressed with many of the boys on the team. The Broncs tied with the Cody-Kilgore team, both with 46 points. Sam Hanson, Senior at Pine Bluffs High School, has been chosen as athlete of the week. She is involved in cross county, basketball and track. What she likes most about cross country is that Pine Bluffs and Burns combine schools and compete together. The Cheyenne Regional Medical Center is taking the next step in gettng the new Medical Cinic in Pine Buffs up and running. There will be a bid for a general contractor. All who are interested will place bids on the contract for the construction before 1:30 p.m. April 15 at Pappas and Pappas Architects. The bids will then be opened and read publicly.
