It will cost $1.50 to visit the swimming pool this summer. “A pop costs a dollar,” Council Member Donn Randall said. “We’re squabbling over a dollar.” In addition to $1.50 being nominal, Randall said the future fees will encourage p...

  • The Life spring brings

    Elizabeth Syvanen Post Reporter Intern|Apr 19, 2018

If you've ever been around baby animals, I'm sure you're able to recognize the warm, cheerfully-serene feeling that seems to radiate from around them. Personally, it doesn't get much better than walking out to the barn and seeing the small, adorable, fuzzy face of a week old lamb staring back at me. With our final ewe deciding to have her lambs around the sixth of this month, we had two last lambs added to the mix, Dopey and Pongo. Around my house you would find multiple hints at springtime....

Haize Fornstrom won the triple jump by nearly three feet with his 40-8.50 effort. And Ishmael DePaullite, who is also having quite a senior...

  • Lady Hornets take third

    Zach Spadt|Apr 19, 2018

BURNS - Kendra Sloan might have earned the Lady Hornets' only event win last week at the Burns Invitational track and field meet, but several of her teammates put up strong performances to help the team take second-place. Sloan won the pole vault at 8-10.00, but a number of her teammates earned several top-four places. Head Coach Dustin Lee has referred to it as nickel and diming in the past. The team's diversity showed yet again this year as Lady Hornets were represented - and well - in events...

  • Where is the Track and Field Capital of Wyoming

    Courtesy Monte Failoni|Apr 19, 2018

Have you ever wondered which town in Wyoming deserves the title of the track and field capital of Wyoming? If one looks at the state archives of individual champions, a likely place to start is the 200-meter dash. The oldest event in the Olympics was called the stadion in which the runners sprinted over the distance of 1 stade (192 meters). A stade was the length of the original Olympic Stadium in 776 B.C and the stadion was the only event competed in the first thirteen Olympics. Since 1972,...
