Donald V. Loveland passed away Sunday, May 03, 2015, in Cheyenne. from complications of Alzheimer’s. He was born January 20, 1924, in rural western Nebraska to Frank and Adella Loveland. On Oct. 9, 1943, he married Margie Hill in Torrington. Donald was a WWII veteran having served in the 253rd Quartermaster Pack Troop in the China-Burma-India Theater from 1943 until his honorable discharge in 1945. The Burns Broncs and Pine Bluffs Hornets traveled to Scottsbluff last week to take part in the Best in the West meet at Scottsbluff High School. Twenty-four women's teams, and 23 men's teams showed up to find out who the best athletes were that day. The Burns women ranked seventh overall as a team, while Pine Bluffs came in 13th. Coming off the Best in the West meet in Scottsbluff earlier last week, the Pine Bluffs Hornets traveled to the Goshen County meet in Torrington Saturday. Every single day, lately, it seems I've been getting notices from the Wyoming High Patrol about another fatality accident. I just received one that said alcohol was being investigated as a contributing factor. This makes almost, if not already, 40 fatalities on Wyoming roads this year. Fourteen agribusiness men and women from throughout Wyoming graduated from the Wyoming Leadership Education and Development (L.E.A.D.) program's Class 13 in March with the ceremony held in Saratoga. Good morning. Word of the week around here is soggy. We made it through the majority of the track season and prom with decent weather and we have needed the rain. Now I think we need a dry spell for planting and end of the year field trips. The dandy-lions sure are doing great this year aren't they? I have them in places where they have never been before. The other day a friend of mine gave me a recipe she had found, and thought I would find it cute because of the name of the recipe. She was mistaken. Although this recipe tastes like a little slice of heaven, I really think it could have been more appropriately named, something other than ‘Anti-Crabby’ Cake.
