We made double this year from what we did last year," said Alisha Michaud, Executive Director of the center. In fact, the center pulled in $2,400 in the Saturday event. • Eight generations in state comes with responsibility

    Bill Sniffin|Jun 8, 2017

Although they have had eight generations living in Wyoming, the Driskill clan of Devils Tower originally came from Texas and as a result, it seems most everything about these folks is big. State Sen. Ogden Driskill (R-Devils Tower) showed my wife Nancy and me around northeast Wyoming recently but also shared some of the more interesting things about his unusual clan. As for big, Ogden was feeling pretty good about his newfound self, weighing just 315 pounds. During lunch in Hulett, he was...

  • Enzi issues statement on U.S. withdrawing from Paris agreement; compliments the Administration's attempt at a balanced budget

    Sen. Mike Enzi|Jun 8, 2017

U.S. Senator Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., released the following statement on President Trump’s announcement that the U.S. would withdraw from the Paris climate agreement. “I applaud President Trump for making the decision to withdraw the United States from the Paris climate agreement. The choice by the former Administration to join the agreement without any input from Congress was disingenuous and irresponsible. The Constitution requires the Senate to advise and consent to any treaty made by the president. “The Paris agreement demanded too much from...

  • Looking Back

    Jun 8, 2017

1 YEARS AGO June 7, 1917 NO FEARS OF ZEPPELIN ATTACKS Although it would be a daring aviator who would attempt to cross the Atlantic for a night air attack on Washington, if some intrepid German Zeppelin commander should attempt the feat he will not find the capital unprepared. Apparently American army and navy officials have little fear of a German air attack on American coast cities. They are confident of their ability to give any would-be invaders such a warm reception that an attempted attack would not be repeated. Petrograd, June...

Good morning Banner County friends near and far! It is beautiful here right now and both man and beast seem to be joying the fair weather. Summer doesn’t go by any calendar. And that is perhaps why it is such an exciting season. One day we wake up to winter weather warnings, and then it seems the very next day the wind turns warm and the sunshine lays freckles on our ground and skin. Summer is here. Another year has passed on the calendar for many of us, myself included. Sharing a birthday with me this week is Cordell Willert on June 4, who will also begin celebrating an anniversary after his nuptials June 10. Shawnae and Cody Bran...

    Gary Collins, Pine Bluffs Post|Jun 8, 2017

Following the usual meeting preliminaries, the Town Council of Pine Bluffs Monday night welcomed two new members and one old, but in a new position, to their ranks. Sworn in for a four year term as mayor was former councilman Alan Curtis. This was succeeded by the swearing in of Jana Kestner and Donn Randall to their terms as councilmen. The two newcomers to the governing body comported themselves well and gave little indication of their inexperience. After the swearing in, and the approval of t...
