    The theme was Burn'n Thru at Burns Day 2022. The day was filled with activities on June 11th in Burns, Wyoming. It started out with a Pancake Breakfast at the Laramie County Fire Department #6 station. The firefighters were flipping pancakes as fast as they could with the long lines supporting the fire department. It was free but donations were appreciated. With the pancakes was ham and a drink to get a person ready for the day. The fire station was filled for hours. Next was the 5k walk/run....

    An outdoor T.V. show director and producer come to Pine Bluffs looking for something to have at their camp fire. Rick Kreuter from Beyond the Hunt came to Pine Bluffs Distilling to have a bottle of Rye bottled to have for their camp fires. Kreuter and his wife Julie produce and direct Beyond the Hunt.     Immediately following the opening of the June 13, 2022 town of Pine Bluffs council meeting, Mayor Justin Fornstrom presented scholarship awards to two Pine Bluffs students. Carson Rabou and Alexis DePaulitte were this year's recipients of the 2022 mayoral scholarships in the amount of $500.00.     Alice Darlene (Asselin) Fisher (91) passed peacefully in her sleep December 25, 2021, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. At her side was her daughter, Rhonda (Fisher) Gerberich also of Colorado Springs. Alice, in passing, finally realized her final life's goal - to pass on to her savior and be united, for eternity, with her husband of 63 years Frederick Dean Fisher.     Thomas Richard Porter, 84, of Carpenter, died on June 8, 2022. He was born on May 23, 1938 in Carpenter at home. Tom worked on the family wheat farm in Carpenter most of his life and cared for his disabled mother as long as possible in their home. He mentored his nephews each summer and gave them the experience of farm living. He was a mechanic in the Army National Guard and worked as a welder for WyCon Chemical in Cheyenne for several years.   • Wyoming Emergency Poultry Rule Repealed

    Wyoming’s emergency rule prohibiting commingling of poultry due to highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) has been repealed, effective Monday, June 13. The rule was passed on April 19 by the Wyoming Livestock Board (WLSB) to limit the spread of HPAI. Since the initial diagnosis of HPAI within the US in February, the virus has spread across 36 states on 371 premises, affecting approximately 40 million poultry.     The 2022 Wyoming Shrine Bowl was held last Saturday in Casper. It was quite the event for the Burns athlete who was able to compete in the game. Cody Winslow played on the South team and unfortunately the South lost to the North by a score of 37-3.     During the Freedom in the Ring Livestock Show in Mitchell, Nebraska on June 4th and 5th, local youngsters converged on Mitchell to show their livestock. Tyler Humphrey of Burns, Wyoming was one of the showmen showing his market lamb. Also showing was Kason Bowman, also of Pine Bluffs, showing his market lamb as well.     The music was flowing in down town Burns. On June 11th at 11 a.m. the start of six bands were playing for Burns Day. There were two stages, once one band was finished the next band was beginning. The music was non-stop for the whole time, up to 11 p.m. The first band was a two person band by the name of City Creek Band from Cheyenne. They performed cover songs and requests.     There were several activities held during Burns Day. A bit of something for everyone. First was the 5K Walk/Run. There were about 15 people and one dog on the run.
