A report was received by the Post, Wednesday, July 21, regarding a rattlesnake spotted on the east side of Pine Bluffs. According to Edna Hickman, the predator was last seen on Beech Street. Street closures are planned in Pine Bluffs over the next two weeks as construction crews set long-span girders for bridges on Interstate 80. The closures will happen during the evening and overnight hours to minimize traffic disruptions. Grand Marshals for the upcoming Albin Day, July 8, are long-time Albin residents Charles Wayne "Chuck" and Pat Netherton Palm. Chuck was born in Kimball, Neb. in 1931 but has lived on the family farm all of his life. According to Pat, Chuck's "claim to fame," is that he has only moved about 50 feet in his life, from his parent's home to the Palm's current home. Beverly Irene Knight passed away June 22, 2017 at the Laramie Care Center at the age of 91. She was born in Otis, Colorado February 25, 1926 to Olla and Ruby (nee Stratton) Elwood. They moved to Pine Bluffs, Wy at an early age and she completed all her education and spent her early years in Pine Bluffs. She married John Knight on January 12, 1963. They spent most of their lives in Laramie. She enjoyed crafts, knitting, crocheting and golfing. A lifelong resident of Pine Bluffs Wyoming, Howard Wayne Jessop, age 79, passed away June 24, 2017, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born to Harold and Olga Jessop on the family farm June 20, 1958. Farming was in Howard's blood, he put his heart and soul into the cultivation and lifelong care of the family farm. Motorists will pay more for driver license and motor vehicle registration fees starting July 1. During the 2017 legislative session, lawmakers approved two bills, which will increase the fees for a driver license and the state's portion of motor vehicle registrations. It is unknown when the Walker House which sits on the property of the Texas Trail Museum was built, according to documents in the museum. The land on which the building stands was donated to the town of Pine Bluffs by the Bay State Livestock company in 1886.
