Pine Bluffs’ 70th annual Trail Days celebration may officially be limited to three days this year, but there’s enough going on to keep anybody busy through the weekend. Taking a stroll down memory lane takes on a whole new meaning when visiting the Texas Trail Museum. Opening day for the summer season of 2020 started on July 1st. According to museum curator Mary Chowns, "The opening was soft, following health precautions with limited travelers. Carol E. Fyfe Goranson took her last earthly breath and was in the presence of her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 3rd, 2020 at Heritage Estates in Gering, NE. Since that time, it has grown from a one-day event featuring a parade, a barbecue and rodeo, to a five-day celebration filled with a little bit of something for everyone. CHEYENNE—More than 25 percent of Laramie County’s 35,572 registered voters have requested an absentee ballot for the August 18 Primary Election. Since the start of absentee voting on July 2, the Clerk’s office has mailed nearly 9300 ballots to voters who requested them and requests are still coming in. Voters have until the day before the Primary to request a mail ballot. Beau Scarborough, a 2019 graduate of Pine Bluffs High School still chases his dream of being one of the best in bronc riding. Scarborough will be starting his second year at Casper College in the fall. With this, comes riding for the college rodeo. Due to the COVID-19, rodeos were cancelled for the college this spring.
