  • Who will win U. S. House primary? Looks like Liz Cheney by a nose

    Bill Sniffin|Aug 4, 2016

If this were a horse race, the announcer might say that front-runner Liz Cheney of Wilson is holding off challenger Leland Christensen of Alta on the last turn while early leader Tim Stubson of Casper is still running hard but might be starting to fade. But it is not a horse race. This is the race for Wyoming’s lone Congressional seat and there are eight men and one woman working very hard to convince voters that each is the best person for the job. This is the most interesting statewide race...

  • Reporter refects on storm

    Zach Spadt, Pine Bluffs Post|Aug 4, 2016

During the short time I have been a reporter, I’ve been assigned to cover developing news events involving unthinkable losses. I’ve covered structure fires, the town of Ten Sleep losing its firehall, and other events I could never imagine experiencing. I am also no stranger to watching people come together to help each other out in a time of need — but I have never been directly impacted myself. Always just an observer. That changed last Wednesday when the storm hit. I was just sitting down to eat dinner when the hailstones began hitting...

  • Banner County News

    Barb Cross|Aug 4, 2016

Good morning Banner County, neighbors near and far! Wow, here it is August, the month I have been dreading since May. August means summer is almost over and I am never ready, although we sure have had some awfully hot days. A few folks here in town sure have some nice gardens going though so the extra heat has been good for that. My garden project was a total failure this year, so maybe I will get a chance again come next spring. At this point, that seems like a long, long way off. Speaking of...

Teegan McLaughlin will turn 8 August 6. He is sure to have a storm of fun that day and hopefully every day. Happy...

Several state and volunteer organizations began rolling into the town after the storm hit Wednesday afternoon. Church groups, volunteers who simply felt helping with cleanup was "the right thing to do" and local businesses all provided a helping hand. Tammy Tucker, owner of the recently opened Something on the Way coffee shop opened...

    StatePoint Media|Aug 4, 2016
