Irene K. Hones, 90, life-long resident of Cheyenne was carried to heaven in the arms of the angels on Aug.7, 2013. She was born Sept. 28, 1922, to James and Elizabeth (O’Leary) Finnerty. After graduating from St. Mary’s High School in 1940, Irene was employed in the accounting department of United Airlines and as the night-shift switchboard operator at the Union Pacific Railroad and Telegraph Office.
