    Burns High School has hired three new teachers and two new staff members for the 2020-2021 year. Caleb Green is Burns High School's new ag teacher and FFA advisor. Green moved from the Sheridan area where he attended Sheridan College before transferring to UW to major in ag education. "I've wanted to be an ag teacher since I took ag in high school," said Green.     Pine Bluffs Recreation managed to host a variety of activities this summer, albeit with increased safety precautions due to COVID-19.     The Cheyenne-Laramie County Health Department in conjunction with the Cheyenne Weed and Pest Department will begin the first round of aerial larvacide work on the week of August 24, 2020. Fixed wing aircraft will fly the major drainage areas of Laramie County including municipal sewage lagoons, ponds, stock reservoirs and lakes in an effort to control the mosquito vector that carries West Nile Virus.     The Research & Planning section of the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services reported today that the state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell from 7.6% in June to 7.1% in July. Wyoming’s unemployment rate peaked at 9.6% in April and has steadily decreased since then as some businesses have reopened and individuals have returned to work.
