Over 25 volunteers came out with the sunshine Saturday morning to help Cheyenne Light Fuel and Power weatherize and clean up two local homes to complete their work with the grant from National Day of Service Remembrance program. At Monday evening’s Pine Bluffs council meeting, mayor Bill Shain said he received a revised version of the Memorandum of Understanding between Laramie County Central Communications and Pine Bluffs to take over dispatching calls. Pine Bluffs United Methodist Church warmly welcomed their new pastor, Pastor Lesley Matschke. She has been appointed by Bishop Elaine Stanovsky and the Rocky Mountain Conference to serve both Pine Bluffs UMC and to continue as pastor at Hillsdale UMC. Pastor Matschke moved into the Pine Bluffs parsonage at the end of July and began work officially on Aug. 1. Burns Town Council once again visited the issue of billing for ambulance services at its regular meeting on Monday, Sept. 9. Currently those making use of the service are not being charged for runs. The Panthers were held scoreless in the first half of play, while the Broncs’ Taylor Kirkbride hit pay dirt once for a 7-0 Broncs lead at halftime. The Laramie County School District No. 2 board of trustees met in Carpenter Monday, Sept. 9, to discuss, among other items of business, moving the Pine Bluffs and Burns graduation date. Wow! What a week makes — difference in the weather that is! It has been downright chilly here a day or two. Personally, I have enjoyed it, although I hate the cold and still have outside chores to finish. Fall has definitely been in the air. The homecoming games were pretty exciting.
