Residents will have a safe and easy way to dispose of their expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs this Saturday. The Drug Enforcement Agency’s (DEA) National Prescription Drug Take-back Day is Saturday, Sept. 26. Sites will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for people to bring excess prescription drugs that otherwise could be abused or contaminate the environment. It was back and fourth for three quarters, Friday night, as the Pine Bluffs Hornets were on the road to take on the Southeast Cyclones. Despite keeping the score close, Southeast eventually got the upper-hand and secured a 24-12 victory. Southeast scored first with a one-yard touchdown run in the second quarter by Chance Werner. This year, a disease called tularemia has been widely reported in Nebraska and neighboring states. Eighteen cases have been reported to the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services so far in 2015 which represents a 25-year high. Many of the cases are in the Panhandle. Age range of people affected is 3-82 years old. Eleven people were hospitalized. Tularemia is a disease that can affect animals and people. During the license purchasing process, hunters have the option to provide the Wyoming Game and Fish Department with their email address. This allows Game and Fish to follow up with hunters by providing them harvest surveys in a much more cost effective manner.
