  • Economy taking its toll on businesses that have long been state landmarks

    Bill Sniffin|Sep 29, 2016

Owning and taking care of horses is obviously one of the great joys for a lot of Wyoming people. To me, I like to ride them, but have never had the urge to own one. Imagine my surprise back in the 1970s, when one of my former business partners (and my boss) Bruce Kennedy asked me to spend a week at his Greybull house, looking after his property and mainly, babysitting his prize horses. I also helped to manage our newspapers in Greybull and Cody, but most of my memories are about taking care of...

    Submitted|Sep 29, 2016

One of the worst scenarios for families caring for someone living with Alzheimer’s disease is a loved one wandering or getting lost. It causes immediate panic and concern, and unfortunately happens all too often. In fact, nearly 50 percent of some of these family members have experienced a loved one with Alzheimer’s wandering or getting lost, according to a new survey conducted by Home Instead, Inc., franchisor of the Home Instead Senior Care® network. Of those, nearly one in five called the police for assistance. To help families keep their lo...

Good morning to you all! It is now officially fall, although mother nature has been telling us that for quite some time. This past weekend was pretty nice and would have been perfect if not for the wind. I am assuming that Farmer’s Day in Kimball was well-attended. We only made it to the demolition derby and if judging by the amount of people there, it was great. The stands at the fairgrounds were packed. All of the stands. We had another commitment at 5 p.m. so we left a little bit early. At t...

If you have lived with any blessings at all, you have experienced a few of those fall days that seem to be gems sparkling in the fabric of the blanket of cold weather. Those days when the blue of the sky only pales in beauty to the last fresh green of the leaves before they change to the golden brown and bright orange of sleep. And the tall northern pines seem to stretch their needles to the sky and blend their evergreen with the late year bright blue. Take a walk on one of those days and every...
