Discussion and approval of the snow and ice removal plan for the town of Pine Bluffs was the focus of this weeks town council meeting. Hazel Mae Gensel, 94, of Pine Bluffs, Wyoming, passed away Friday, October 27, 2017, at Granite Rehabilitation and Wellness Center in Cheyenne. Hazel was born March 18, 1923, in Pine Bluffs, daughter of Ford and Cora Faye (Rinehart) Marquiss. As a young adult, Hazel taught elementary students at a small country school. His main focus as a cattle rancher is to produce a specific quality of cattle. The Duello Cattle Company has only been around about 10 years. Justin Trout traded uniforms to become a Navy gunners mate. Originally from Debec, Colorado, Trout and his family moved to the Scottsbluff, Nebraska area when he was a young man. He graduated from Scottsbluff and went into law enforcement. After the academy, Trout the head of security for Colorado Northwest College in Rangely, Colorado from 1998-2000. Northwest of Pine Bluffs, about 12 miles, is the Salem Cemetery. Mark Lanning, is a board member, as well as, now the Secretary of the Salem Cemetery Association. Per Lanning, confusion regarding the name of the small town Lindbergh, is that it once was named Salem. However Salem was a community about a mile west of the cemetery. Last weeks game Pine Bluffs vs. Upton-Sundance was a tough one. Not only was it a chilling 36 degrees at kick-off, but both teams were evenly matched in the sense of player's skills and abilities. The 95th Anniversary banquet of the Pine Bluffs Lions Club was held on Saturday, November 4, at the Pine Bluffs Historical High School.
