The Burns Branch Library will be closed from Sunday, Dec. 23 through Wednesday, Dec. 26. On Thursday, Dec. 27, we will be showing a family movie, “Brave,” starting at 1 pm. We’ll have popcorn and a prize drawing. On Friday, Dec. 28, we will be showing 80’s movies. We start with “Goonies” at 10am, “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” at noon and the original version of “Teen Wolf” at 2:30 pm. We’ll have a drawing for a prize with each movie and we’ll provide treats. These movies are for teens but all are welcome. Our candy recipe today is from Pat Cowles....
The weather has warmed a bit these last few days, but I am sure most of us, especially the farmers, would trade the moderate temperatures for a few days of soaking moisture. A lot of business was covered at last week’s village board meeting. Cody, Billy, and Karl took the oath of office for the positions they were re-elected to on the board. Tim was re-elected as chairman of the board. Shirley was reappointed as clerk/treasurer. Tim, Verne, and Karl were reappointed to the health board.
