Laramie County Fire District No. 5

Interstate 80 was a mass of jack-knifed tractor-trailers Monday morning due to wind gusts as high as 50 miles per hour, blowing snow and icy roads. Laramie County Fire District No. 5 responded to a call about a mile west of Pine Bluffs of a jack-knifed truck with a diesel leak which needed to be contained. While working on that accident another truck east bound on I-80 slid onto its side, crossing both the east and west bound lanes, causing the Wyoming Highway Patrol to shut down the Interstate in both directions. In the background is a second trailer, which had also left the road, as well as the traffic that was beginning to back up.
