Ah, the joy of candy making. That detail-oriented, time-consuming task of making something sweet for someone else and sampling along the way.

Granted, some of the recipes require perfect measurements, consistent heat, unwavering stirring, and the right tools. But with a little patience and attention to the little things, home-made candy is rich in taste, and has more charm than the easier option of purchasing candy in a pretty gold-wrapped box. And sometimes, it’s more fun to make than to buy candy.
