Another law officer leaves Pine Bluffs

During executive session at the Pine Bluffs Council meeting Monday evening, the council accepted Jake Johnson’s resignation from the police department. Within the last six months, the department had a chief resign and a new one take the lead. Pine Bluffs also gained a newly trained police officer. The void will be felt by the department, but retired police chief Don Taylor had volunteered his assistance “if needed.”

Town administrator Caryn Miller said Johnson was hoping to work in a larger department.

Johnson did not comment before press time.
