Bushnell News

The village meeting was pretty short again this month, but some helpful reminders were mentioned. The landfill fee is increasing by $2 a month, to $13. The postal service meeting to gather input on preferred window hours will be held Tuesday, Feb. 26, at 1 p.m. in the community center. The village board meetings will be held at 7 p.m. starting in March (because of Daylight Savings Time). And the annual pet clinic will be held April 16, from 6 to 7 p.m. in the fire hall — shots will be provided at a reduced fee and pet licenses may be renewed (the current ones expire April 30).

A hearing was held regarding the application for a USDA grant to purchase a new computer/software system.

A natural gas provider will give their proposal for gas lines in the village at the April meeting.

Two building permits were approved.

The board is pursuing a Keno grant for new street signs. Tim will also talk to the Panhandle Area Development District about a grant for the signs.

After some final legal consultation, the grain bins that are posing a health and safety risk can now be torn down.

The Bushnell Lions Club also has calendars for sale at the Sisters Grimm. Stop by and pick one up for only $5.

For the month of February the bookstore will be open Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays (or by appointment). Lunch will only be served on Sundays. This Sunday’s lunch special is black bean chili.
