Lady Coyotes fall short at regionals

The Pawnee Lady Coyotes traveled to Sterling, Colo., to play at Northeastern Junior College in the 1A Regional Tournament Thursday and came home with a big 61-54 win against the Otis Lady Bulldogs.

“This was a high scoring, tough win,” said coach Dean Smock. “Otis’s 54 points was the third highest points scored against us all year. We had good balance in our scoring and didn’t turn it over.”

Three of Pawnees’ Ladies scored in double digits. Morgan Sanders gave the team a lift with 19 points. Lyndee Johnston found the net for 12 points and Emily Ellis tacked on 10 points. Kati...
