Young authors honored with reception

Burns fifth grade teacher and young author instructor Candice Halligan welcomed the Laramie County School District No. 2 authors and their guests Monday evening at a reception held at Pine Bluffs high gymnasium. Halligan explained the writing program is voluntary in the district. The first, second and third place district winners received awards in the fiction, non-fiction and poem categories. At the end of the evening, Halligan announced the students whose work will go on to compete at the state level.
