The Burns girls track and field squad took first place at the 2A East Regional meet in Gillette last weekend, setting them up for action at the state meet in Casper this weekend. The Lady Broncs earned 151 points for the win. The Pine Bluffs Lady Hornets garnered 69 points for their performances, which was good enough for sixth place overall.

Top finishers for Burns included sophomore Ashley Turner in the sprints. She took first in the 100 and 200 meter dashes and second in the 400.

Their 4x100 relay team took third in 54.85. Team members are Maddie Cowles, Mardi O’Neal, Jessica Malm and Turner. The 4x800 relay team also placed third with a time of 10:58.80. Members of that team are Mckenzie Ward, Celeste Morales, Winnie Hunter and Jessica Phillippe.
