The message at the Hereford Community Church this week was “Hope” — God is a god of hope. When you have hope, you are trusting God. Hope is the anchor of the soul. Luke 2:22-35 tells the story of Simeon. God promised Simeon that he would not die before he had seen Christ the Lord. Simeon held on to that hope for many years. When Mary and Joseph brought baby Jesus to the temple, God told Simeon to go to the temple. Simeon took the baby Jesus in his arms and praised God, because God had fulfilled His promise to Simeon.
