Albin News

In our small community, we gasp, mourn and cry with our own when they lose or fall, encourage them to get back up again when they doubt their future, and root and celebrate when they come back. We have two bright examples in our meager little community of “comeback kids”.

Richard Larson is showing us all there is life after sorrow and hope in walking the path God has given. We are happy for you, Richard and enjoy this time.

Tim Malm has published a book about his harrowing experience in the last few years and has shown us all, sometimes when we get back up, the path isn’t always the quickest to our dreams but the stops along the way are blessings to many. Way to keep showing us the long way to a dream isn’t always bad.

Albin Day is here! Load up the picnic baskets, ball gloves, lawn chairs and get a nap in before Saturday, because you will be worn out by all the fun from morning till night at Albin Day, Saturday, July 13. Start your day off right with breakfast at the firehall and stay through the fireworks, evening show, dinner and dance. Other events during the day include races for all ages, 1-pitch softball tournament, arts and crafts fair, water fights, lawn mower races, gymkhana, bingo, a dessert social, and a horseshoe tournament. A noon meal is offered by the Burns FFA and their parents which is a fiesta dinner with dessert. There is also an evening meal offered from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. just in case your picnic basket gets a little low. So, come enjoy the fun with us!

Monday evening will be the last home game for the Albin Wildcats baseball teams. T ball starts at 6 p.m. with senior T ball to follow. On Tuesday, the teams will travel to Pine Bluffs for their last game of the season against Grover. First batter for the T ball team will be at 6 p.m.

The pool is up and running and if you need lessons, Bethany Malm is still offering to teach your little fish. Call the community center for more information.
