New flooring for senior center

Due to a lack of a quorum, the Pine Bluffs Senior Center meeting didn’t perform any voting business Monday morning at their monthly meeting. Director Angie Robertson updated the members in attendance on the grant she has submitted for new carpet in the center.

“We won’t know anything until next month, but are very optimistic of getting funds for the carpet,” explained Robertson.

Robertson reviewed some of the bids she received from stores and contractors. She added the board might be able to install the new tile carpet themselves with a little help if necessary. Board member Ron Ladd thought the work sounded easy enough to tackle.

In other news, Robertson said Senator Mike Enzi donated $50 for using the senior center as his meeting site. The family of Chet Moyer donated $75 for their father’s 89th birthday party. Robertson added Lois Carpenter celebrated her 94th birthday and the seniors and staff enjoyed looking through the scrapbooks from past years.

The next meeting for the senior center board will be Monday, August 19 at 9 a.m.
