Texas is a hot and miserable state in the summer time. It is humid, crowded, full of bugs and just generally uncomfortable. But, despite all this, I had to go there.

For more than 10 years my parents have called San Antonio home. They moved to the Lone Star state, after an extended stay in Kansas, to be closer to my grandfather. My mom wanted to be around for her father as he approached his final years.
