A festival as it should be: Food, fun, and friends

Trail Days began Wednesday evening, July 31, with dinner and a show.

The authentic chuck-wagon feed outside the historic high school attracted many with the warm scent of peach cobbler. Beef brisket, cheesy potato casserole and corn on the cob completed the menu that 130 people dined on before the talent show. High West Energy supplied electrical wire spools for tables and the cast of the melodrama helped serve. Many guests were treated to “hocked” rolls. Matt Hockersmith tossed warm rolls at guests, but allowed the butter and honey to be passed by hand.
