Asay, Garcia run personal bests at Kimball Invite

Charlene Smith/Pine Bluffs Post The girls varsity and junior varsity runners for the Pine Bluffs/Burns team do a pre-race cheer at the Kimball Invite Friday. The team took second place. Austin Asay, at right, rounds a curve in the Kimball Invite on her way to a win in the girls varsity race.

Through the weather, the rain and the wind, the boys and girls Pine Bluffs-Burns cross country teams ran their third meet on Friday at Kimball. The girls team took first place in the meet with four top 10 finishes, and the boys placed second.

The girl’s junior varsity and varsity teams ran together, for a total race field of 37 girls. Despite the weather, Austin Asay had her personal best time of 20:34 and took first place. She was followed by Celeste Morales, who placed fifth with a time of 21:32. Celeste Jackson took eighth place with a time of 22:57, and in 10th place was Kelsey Faircl...
